Finally got Chapter 2 on the website!
Plus five things you may find interesting!
If you know me at all, you probably know that I am not a huge fan of all the extra stuff that comes along with having an art career. For example, doing taxes, updating your website, social media, conventions, etc. So I’m sure it comes as no surprise when I tell you, it took me way longer than it should to put chapter 2 of Ravana’s Relics on my website. For one, my wife, Brandi, was the one who set up my website the first time. So I didn’t even know how to update it. The idea of having to learn to update my site was pretty intimidating, and honestly time-consuming. But I had an event this past Saturday that motivated me to spend whatever time necessary to updating my website. And I got it done! Probably took me somewhere between five and seven hours, but I think moving forward it will be a lot quicker, now that I have figured out kind of how it works. I am going to share the rest of the pages here for you to read that I haven’t shared on my newsletter yet, and at the bottom, I’ll have a link for you to go straight to my website to read the whole chapter altogether!

5 Cool Things
I discovered the webcomic Raruurien this week and it’s is gorgeous. If you like my work, or Avatar The Last Airbender, I think you’ll like this one!
At Emerald City Comic Con in 2018, there was a panel with Lucy Bellwood, Jake Parker, and Jason Brubaker that talked about the possibility of being a comic creator without needing big companies. The question they were answering was, “Can we turn comics into a career on our own?” You can read a breakdown of their panel here. There’s a ton of great insight into the life of an independent comic artist! LINK
Found the book Pablo & Jane and the Hot Air Contraption by José Domingo and was blown away! The design and the worlds he created are so cool. Check it out! LINK
Colza is an absolutely beautiful animated short that gives me Studio Ghibli vibes. Love the peacefulness it gives off.
I found Gokul’s art late last year and was immediately drawn to it. The bright colors, the representation of India in a new way, the honoring of tradition. He’s just getting started and I can’t wait to see what else he does.
Thanks for all your support and for all the new people that have hopped on! I’m really excited to get chapter two out to y’all! Would love to know what you think!
Until next time,
Raj
