With the switch to Substack, I wanted to repost all the comics I’ve done so far. That way all the new folks can have access to the entire story. So I’m going to slowly rollout updates each week to catch everyone up, and so the whole story is available on the app! For those of you that have already read the beginning of the story, feel free to jump to the bottom, where I’ll be throwing in some other updates! And then from here, I will update every time I get a page or two done. Thanks so much for reading!
CHAPTER 1: Page 1-2
Head on over to my website to read the full first chapter now!
I’m Writing from Juneau, Alaska!
Yesterday I drove myself to Austin Airport to start my annual trip to Juneau, Alaska. Why am I going to Alaska? For the Alaska Robotics Comics Camp! Every year, Pat Race and Aaron Suring put on a getaway in the wilderness of Alaska for comics writers, illustrators, and simply creative people. People fly in from all over the states (and a few from out of the country) to spend a few days playing games, singing karaoke, and basically just hanging out amongst their fellow creatives.
Tomorrow the festivities start. Kids in Juneau don’t often get the chance to go to big out of state comic cons so Saturday we put on a small mini-con. A group of us going to camp set up tables to sell our merch, a section for games is set up, and we mingle with the local community. This will be my first year participating, but I attended last year, and got in a fierce board game battle with a 10 year old (I came out victorious).
I’ll be taking pictures and notes all weekend long and will send out an update next week of all the awesome things I came away with, the awesome people I met, and the project ideas I’ll assuredly have.
Until then, have a fantastic week!
